What We Do
Facilities
Wet labs: Four laboratories for cellular and molecular genetic analysis of eye and brain function.
Dry labs: Four laboratories for measuring the visual capacities and the structural changes in the eyes of patients with ocular disorders.
The Ophthalmology Library
The University of Toronto's A. E. MacDonald Ophthalmology Library is now located in the VSRP's William Callahan Reading Room, a comfortable, beautifully finished and furnished room, with a working fireplace! This library has extensive journal holdings, texts, electronic media and internet access and has become a key educational and research tool for our scientists and students, as well as for the ophthalmology residents, fellows and staff.
Conference/Meeting Rooms
Our audio-visual, network-connected rooms are in constant use and in demand for presentations not only by our own vision group but also by other hospital departments. We have a boardroom suitable for meetings of up to 20 people and a Conference Room/Classroom that holds up to 50 people.
