TD Scholarship in Rehabilitation Research Open House
Announced on Mar 09, 2012

Toronto Rehab is hosting an open house for the TD scholarships for rehabilitation-related research. Toronto Rehab is awarding this scholarship to graduate students with disabilities from affiliated universities.

Toronto Rehab established its scholarship program for students with disabilities in 2005 with a pledge of $300,000 from TD GRANTS IN MEDICAL EDUCATION from the TD Bank Financial Group. Today, their support of this program totals $750, 000. The $20,000 scholarship supports the education and training of masters and doctoral students with disabilities who are studying in a rehabilitation-related field and intend on contributing to rehabilitation sciences as researchers.

Toronto Rehab views the scholarship as more than an academic award. The scholarship is intended to act as a spur to involving people with disabilities in rehabilitation-related research.

"Research is an investment in the future - and so are scholarships," says Dr. Geoff Fernie, Institute Director, Research. "We believe this exciting scholarship will open doors to careers in rehabilitation research for top graduate students."
